The students drawn to Environmental Design at CU Boulder care deeply about the world they are inheriting and want to help change it for the better. I teach because I want to help them give that concern purposeful form through the products, buildings, landscapes, and communities they design and make.
Across more than fifteen years in the classroom, I've watched students learn why a project matters, work through iteration and failure, build confidence in their own judgment, and carry ideas into physical and public consequence.
My teaching spans foundational studios, environmental product design, architecture and product capstones, design-build, visual communication, theory and ethics, ecological design, digital modeling, and generative AI.
