Jeremy Ehly

In 2002, while working in a cancer research lab, I took my first architecture studio course at the University of Washington. I found my people and my purpose almost immediately. I have never really left the studio since.

What I love most about design education is its willingness to grapple with big ideas. The studio gives ideas room to become ambitious before budgets and other practical limits begin to narrow the field. I value that freedom, and the challenge of helping students develop the judgment to carry ambitious ideas into reality.

While earning my master's degree in architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, I met my wife, Lindsay, who was studying architecture at UIC. We worked internationally for a time before eventually finding our way to Colorado. We married in 2012 and have since welcomed two children, who are at the center of our lives.

As for the very current version of me: dad jokes, fixing things, incredible hikes, and pretty much anything to do with Japan.
